Once you have prepared the chocolate granola and almonds- chop up the nuts. Serve both with milk or almond yogurt. Just whisk a splash of almond extract into plain yogurt with a drizzle of agave nectar. If you want this for dessert instead of breakfast, sprinkle it on top of vanilla ice cream with bananas.

Chocolate Granola

A handful of chocolate chips and cocoa powder makes this granola one of my favorites. And really who would turn down chocolate for breakfast! It is antioxidant fun in a bowl. Placing the chocolate chips in at the end means they will melt and clump the oats, but not overcook and burn.

Cocoa Dusted Almonds

Almonds are simply dusted with cocoa, a pinch of cayenne for just a kick and a drop of sugar for a touch of sweetness. These whip up fast and last for a week or more to snack on or chop up and sprinkle on everything from breakfast to salads to desserts.
