Broccoli- Simply Steamed

Refreshing bright green florets are a colorful, nutritious, simple side.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb broccoli, florets & tender part of the stem

Serving Size: 2 People

Preparation Instructions

Wash the broccoli well. If it is especially dirty or bug-filled, soak it in a large bowl of water, shaking off the dirt and grim. Change the water and repeat until clean.

Cut the broccoli florets off and slice the tender parts of the stem. Peel the tough outer skins, if desired.

Place a large pot with a lid over high heat. Fill the pan up with about 2 inches with water. Add the broccoli and cover with a lid. Steam for 3-6 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. If you like it even softer, keep steaming until it is your desired tenderness.

Serve alongside a main dish or with a lemony-mayonnaise for a snack.
