Heat up the grill. Prepare the garlic bread and place on an indirect location on the grill. Prepare the salad ingredients, but don’t assemble quite yet. Place the asparagus on the grill. Once it is properly seared assemble the main dish salad, serve the asparagus alongside with the grilled bread. You may even consider doubling up the dressing because it is delicious for dipping the bread and asparagus. Skip the bacon in the salad to make this vegetarian.

Grilled Garlic Bread

While you grill a main dish and veggies, wrap this garlic-stuffed French bread in foil and warm up to be ready to go when dinner is served. Butter makes it a bit extra tasty, but straight olive oil will do the trick as well. Use any fresh herbs hanging out in your garden or even a sprinkle of dried Italian herbs if that’s all you have.

Wedge Salad

Classic, retro whatever you want to call it the Wedge Salad is just about the only way to eat Iceberg lettuce and that is why we love it. Iceberg is hardly known for its high-nutrients but rather it serves as a lovely vehicle for garden fresh tomatoes, yogurt-herb dressing, and a bit of bacon & cheese just tops it all off. Make your own dressing from scratch if you can- our recipe comes together quickly. Make this vegetarian, by skipping the bacon and adding salty nuts or extra cheese.

Grilled Asparagus

This could easily become your favorite way to eat asparagus as thick stalks take on amazing slightly charred flavor with an almost creamy center. The actual cooking time depends on the thickness of the asparagus, just watch it and pull it when they are tender to the bite with dark stripes.
