Winter

Apple & Chicken Tossed Salad

 

A Winter main dish salad, that will fill you up without feeling heavy. Leave out the cheddar cheese for a dairy-free option. This is also lovely vegetarian, without the chicken and extra cheese & nuts instead. We have a Honey Mustard Dressing on the site that is easy to make, rather than buying store-bought.

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces chicken, cooked and shredded
  • 1 apple, cored and thinly sliced
  • 2 ounces cheddar cheese, thinly sliced or grated
  • 4 cups lettuce
  • ¼ cup walnuts, or pecans, crumbled
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced, optional
  • ½ carrot, shredded
  • 4 tablespoons honey mustard dressing, homemade or store-bought

Serving Size: 2 People



 

Preparation Instructions

Place all of the ingredients in a bowl with about half of the dressing. Toss lightly and add more dressing to your desired taste.

If desired finish the salad with a few of the ingredients as garnish, such as the apples, nuts and cheese.
