Cinnamon Granola

Make a big batch of this basic granola recipe ahead. It will last for a couple weeks on your counter or pantry or place it air-tight in your fridge and it will last even longer.

This takes less than 5 minutes to prep, but you will need to be home for a couple of hours to stir it occasionally and watch for when it is done.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup agave nectar, or honey
  • ½ cup vegetable oil (high heat)
  • ½ cup apple juice
  • 4 cups rolled oats , (not quick or instant)
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon, or more to taste
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup flax meal, ground

Serving Size: 8 People

Preparation Instructions

Preheat the oven to 300. In a large baking or roasting pan, combine the wet ingredients and then toss in the rolled oats. Sprinkle in the salt, spices, and flax seed meal. Toss well to combine.

Reduce the oven to 200. Place in the oven and toss the granola every 20 minutes until lightly toasted. Typically it takes about 2 hours or more. Cool in the same pan before transferring to a storage container.

Store in an air-tight container for up to 2 weeks. It will last longer if stored in the refrigerator.
