Quick Blueberry-Almond Oatmeal

Perfect for kids as using frozen blueberries actually cools the oatmeal down just enough to be able to enjoy this a bit sooner. A drop or two or almond extract is optional, but adds a bit more zing to a bowl of oats.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup blueberries
  • 1 cup sliced almonds
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract, about a capful or more to taste
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup milk, optional

Serving Size: 1 Person

Preparation Instructions

Place the water in a small pot and bring up to a boil. Add in the Rolled Oats and stir occasionally as it thickens. Cook this for 8-14 minutes until it is your desired tenderness and thickness. Add more water if you prefer it runnier, cook it longer if you prefer it thicker.

Once hot and perfect, mix in the blueberries and almond extract. Serve in a bowl, top with the sliced almonds and pour milk on top if desired.
