The Food
Love is in the food.
Chocolate is most obvious for Valentine’s Day, so we created a Chocolate Granola and some Cocoa Dusted Almonds. Both are simple. Easy.
Cocoa is such a rich antioxidant, so we went a bit crazy adding it to savory dishes. It makes appearances in a Cabernet Cocoa Sauce that you can almost paint on to Peppercorn Crusted Steak. As well as a Warm Cocoa, Chard & Apple Salad which may sound intimidating, but is rather divine. The same dressing works well tossed in the Cacao Nib Slaw. So if you dare- try a cocoa rich dish this week.
Did you know that garlic and chilies are all aphrodisiacs as well? This flavorful duo inspired our spicy, sultry Winter Puttanesca, the Cherry Chili Chard and the Spicy Squash Soup which is also paired with the less spicy, but garlicky Brie-Portabellos.
Next, indulge in a nutritious French appetizer of Mushroom & Chicken Pate. Oh-la-la… this fancy-schmancy, healthy-tasty treat is perfect for a picnic on a sunny winter day or by a warm fire as a starter to any of this week’s dinners.
For breakfast in bed or even a simple dessert- we have Crepes with Ginger Pears.
To sooth your soul, the Baked Chicken, Broccoli & Rice dish is comfort in every bite. And for a romantic, homestyle vegetarian dish, be sure to try our Butternut Squash Mac n’ Cheese.
We packed this week with aphrodisiacs and comfort foods designed to sing to your heart strings.
