Egg in a Hole with Kale Smoothie

Prepare the bread and place in a the skillet to start searing. Place all of the ingredients in the blender for the smoothie. Once the egg is added to the hole in the bread, whirl up the smoothie. Serve together.

Egg in a Hole

Egg in a hole is a quick and playful start to your day. It is just bread, a touch of butter and an egg. Leave the eggs as runny or well-cooked as you prefer. And if you like jam, feel free to dab it all around the edges after cooking it up.

Kale Date Smoothie

Grassy, earthy but temptingly sweet. Just a couple dates, a couple leaves of kale and a generous handful of frozen fruit. Any fruit will do, but fresh seasonal peaches would be lovely mid to late summer. To make this vegan simply substitute the dairy products for almond milk or juice.
