Cheese Toasts

from Roasted Pear & Beet Salad with Cheese Toasts, the Week of November 17, 2013.
View the next recipe for this meal.

Just imagine— oozy, drippy cheese on crispy toasts. Although, they are pretty darn yum at room temperature for a lunch on the go, too.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices french bread, thin, or your favorite gluten-free bread
  • 4 slices provolone, or mozzarella, or your favorite white melty cheese
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme, fresh, optional

Serving Size: 2 People

Preparation Instructions

Heat your oven to 425.

Arrange the French bread slices on a baking sheet and top with half of each slice of cheese.

Feel free to place in the oven before the oven has fully reached its temperature. Bake for 5-10 minutes.

Alternatively, place them in a toaster oven and toast until golden.

Sprinkle fresh thyme and black pepper on to finish.
