View the next recipe for this meal.

Slightly sweet-tart with a touch of spice, tossed with greens, chard or your favorite dark leafy seasonally delightful green.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup dried cherries, sweet or tart
  • ¼ cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ onion, thinly sliced
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes, or more if desired to taste
  • 1 bunch chard, washed and roughly chopped
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Serving Size: 2 People

Preparation Instructions

Roughly chop the dried cherries. Soak in the vinegar.

Splash the olive oil in a hot pan over medium-high heat and add in the sliced onions. Sauté lightly until just starting to gain a bit of color.

Add in the red pepper flakes, vinegar and cherries. Simmer lightly until the fumes subside and the vinegar has been mostly absorbed.

Add in the remaining olive oil and the chard shards.

Toss until the chard is wilted and tender.
