View the previous recipe for this meal.

Apples provide the sweetness and the binding agent to make this granola delightful and more importantly, sweetener-free. Use your preferred cooking oil or butter. The apples do not need to be peeled and add a bit of cinnamon to give this more flavor.

Ingredients

  • cups apple, minced
  • ¾ cup butter, unsalted, melted, or preferred cooking oil
  • 5 cups rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon, optional

Serving Size: 10 People

Preparation Instructions

Place the apples in a blender. Add a splash of water. Blend. Add the butter or oil and blend. At any point, if the blender feels stuck add a splash more water.

Heat an oven to 325. Toss the blended apples onto the rolled oats with the salt and cinnamon in a large baking dish. Fold until the oats are thoroughly coated. Spread in the dish and bake for 30 minutes. Stir and continue baking stirring every 15-30 minutes until the granola is well cooked through and dried out.
