Asian Daikon & Rice Soup

Daikon radishes are famous additions to Asian soups. If they are not available, any seasonal root vegetable will do. Allow this to simmer for at least 45 minutes, but longer will cause a starchy thicker textured soup. The garnish is a fun addition, but entirely optional.

Asian Peanut Slaw

A quick use of vegetables with a simple peanut-y sauce, which adds a bit or protein. It may taste vinegary initially, but enjoy it the next day and the cabbage will have sucked it up into deliciousness. While you can find the cabbage & carrots in colder months, the cucumbers are easier to find in summer.

Asian Plum Barbecue Sauce

Plum sauce is a common Chinese sweet & sour condiment. This version uses fresh plums and a minimal amount of ingredients to create a slightly similar barbecue sauce. Adjust the seasonings to your personal taste. If you like more mild cuisine, start with just a pinch of the jalapeno and ginger, adding more to taste. If you like it extra spicy, red chili paste would blend in nicely. If your plums are oozing with sweetness you may be able to omit the honey.

Asian Plum Lettuce Wraps

These make-it-at-the-table bundles of lettuce joy are inspired by Asian plum sauce. However, we avoid the high-sugar condiment and opt for fresh plums chopped up instead. Hints of garlic & ginger liven up this simple soy-sauced up meat.

This is easily gluten-free by making sure you have wheat-free tamari sauce instead of traditional soy sauce.
