The Food
In this last week before the midnight countdown to 2011 begins, squeeze in a few more celebratory dinners with us.
Fondue is delightful when you are gathering with family or friends. Enjoy it around a stove top or a fondue maker and pair with a simple apple salad, touched with gruyere as well.
The Mega Meatballs are just that— huge and tons of fun to eat too. They can also be made small and bite size for New Years Eve party appetizers. The Crab Wontons also work for appetizers or pair them with the simple & healthy Asian Daikon & Rice Soup.
The Roasted Beet, Blue & Kale Salad is Winter in a salad bowl with tangy blue cheese drizzled around.
For breakfast, try the Broccoli, Brie & Apricot Jam Scramble. It sounds different, but the flavors compliment and play with each other well. The Creamy Fruit Salad can be served alongside or as its own breakfast for a small gathering.
Finally, the classic New Years dish is available this week giving all of us just the right amount of luck and prosperity we deserve. The Black-eyed Peas with Collards can be Vegan or with Ham.
Enjoy this final week of the year and get ready for 2011 where we will be pouring out more and more seasonal dishes.
Much luck & joy to each of you as you cook seasonally. Eat consciously. Live well,
