Bacon Shrimp

from Cajun Bacon Shrimp with Roasted Garlic Mizuna Salad, the Week of February 19, 2012.
View the previous or next recipe for this meal.

As simple and delightful as it sounds. The smoky fat of the bacon is used with the succulent sweetness of shrimp. Seek out wild-caught shrimp from North America for the least polluted & sustainable options. Farm fresh bacon, or at least without nitrates is often your best choice. Add salt with discretion after you have tasted a shrimp.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices bacon
  • 8 ounces shrimp
  • 1 pinch salt, to taste, if needed

Serving Size: 2 People

Preparation Instructions

Sear the bacon on each side over medium heat until it is crisp. Place on paper towels or splatter guard and cut into small pieces. With the residual bacon grease, sear the shrimp on each side until pink and cooked through. About 2-3 minutes on each side.

Sprinkle with just a pinch of salt depending on the saltiness of the bacon. Toss lightly with the bacon pieces and serve.
