The Food
Since starting Lilly’s Table I have become a bit excited about any holiday that involves specific dishes that I can share with you. Long time subscribers, I imagine you have noticed. With Passover starting early next week, I wanted to share a few Spring inspired dishes that are worth trying, sharing and enjoying whether or not you hold a Seder dinner.
It’s matzah fun to use the unleavened bread for more than just Matzah Ball Soup. It also coats fish for the Matzo Dill Trout and possibly my favorite is the slightly naughty Matzah Brei, either sweet with Lemon & Sugar or savory with Asparagus.
Build your meal around a hearty Fig Brisket or pair a few sides such as the Sweet Potato & Carrot Tzimmes with the Charoset, Horseradish Beets, and Horseradish Dressed Greens for a Passover meal.
The Braised Fennel, Turnip & White Beans are not a passover tradition, but this end of winter time of year they could be a side or full dinner on their own.
For lunches or snacks, blend up the mixture into a beautiful Turnip Fennel Spread with the Almond Herb Crackers. Next, break from the bagels & lox to try the Smoked Trout Sandwiches.
And by the way, Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I hope this Sunday evening you are dining on Corned Beef, but certainly consider extra cooked Corned Beef for the Cabbage Corned Beef Rolls.
Now it is your turn! As you are selecting your favorite recipes this week make sure to pin, like or tweet out those that you will be preparing to help me spread the love about Lilly’s Table. Just look for the small icons on each recipe, meal or even at the top of this meal plan.
