View the next recipe for this meal.

Summer fresh green beans only need to be cooked briefly until tender and their flavor will become the star of this simple side.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb green beans
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter, unsalted, or olive oil, optional

Serving Size: 2 People

Preparation Instructions

Trim the green beans. Fill your saucepan with about 1 inch of water. Cover with a lid and place over high heat.

If you have a steaming basket that is helpful but not necessary.

Place the trimmed green beans in the boiling water and steam briefly for about 3-5 minutes until the green beans are tender to the bite, but still bright green.

Drain off the excess water. Toss with the salt, butter or olive oil.
