Asian Plum Vegan Sliders with Red Chili Green Beans

Press the tofu. Simmer the plum sauce. Preheat the oven. Slice all of the vegetables for the sliders. Slice the tofu and bake. Start searing the vegetables. Toss the green beans in the skillet and finish with the extra flavors. Keep warm. Toast the mini buns. Smear with the plum sauce. Coat the tofu and cut into bun sized pieces. Stuff the buns with the tofu & vegetables. Serve with the side of green beans.

One of the easiest ways to prepare tofu, since you simply toss it in the oven after drenching it in soy sauce. Great to take chilled and on the go or cut into pieces and toss with a stir fry.

Asian Plum Barbecue Sauce

Plum sauce is a common Chinese sweet & sour condiment. This version uses fresh plums and a minimal amount of ingredients to create a slightly similar barbecue sauce. Adjust the seasonings to your personal taste. If you like more mild cuisine, start with just a pinch of the jalapeno and ginger, adding more to taste. If you like it extra spicy, red chili paste would blend in nicely. If your plums are oozing with sweetness you may be able to omit the honey.

Lightly seared or grilled veggies are stacked in between slider buns with a generous dollop of plum sauce. Make your own or buy a variety with just a few essential ingredients. Add any seasonal veggies that are easy to sear or saute.

Red Chili Green Beans

Green beans are tossed in a skillet over high heat with a bit of water until they are steamy. Toss in the red chili paste and a couple extras for a fast Asian side dish.
