The Food
What a fun week!
Chinese New Year starts this Friday and the Super Bowl is on Sunday. Clearly we need to dip in ourselves!
For Chinese New Year, my favorite way to celebrate is with the Chinese Hot Pot. Gather around a steaming flavorful Ginger Garlic Broth this Friday, add veggies, your favorite proteins and dip your way into the year of the horse.
Hmm? Year of the horseā¦ as in Year of the Broncos? Maybe? Living in Colorado means bison is always a great option. And since I like to tease that we are the “Napa Valley of Beers”, what better way to celebrate the Super Bowl than with the Beer Caramelized Onion Bison Burgers.
Well, I suppose it would be great way to celebrate unless you are a Seahawks fan. Shall we dine on some seafood? While I lived in Seattle I ate a whole lot of deliciousness from the sea and it led me to start making these Crab Wontons.
Since game time often calls for eating wings, why not give them a bit of Seattle flare with Spicy Asian Wings?
For the meatless fans, you will be happy in more neutral territory with this Winter Veggie Chili. Serve it with some Homemade Tortilla Chips and a generous dollop of Guacamole.
If you would like a few meatless options dip into the Squash Nacho Cheese Dip. Make a big batch and smear it on top of Baked Potatoes & Broccoli":. And if you need even more dishes to dip into try the Black Bean Dip and my favorite Feta-Guacamole Dip.
For breakfast or even a snack, prepare the Chinese Tea Eggs and serve with a Winter Fruit Salad. If you have extra avocados, make a quick Guacamole and top them on an easy Cheesy Egg Scramble.
Happy Chinese New Year! Happy Super Sunday! May all your teams dreams come true!
