Grapefruit for breakfast

Simple fruit to accompany any breakfast. Grapefruit is typically available from October through June and it is grown mostly in Texas, California and Florida.

Ingredients

  • 1 grapefruit, washed and dried
  • 1 teaspoon organic sugar, or agave nectar if desired

Serving Size: 2 People

Preparation Instructions

Cut fruit in half so that each piece has an end or stem to rest on. Sprinkle the fruit with a 1/2 teaspoon of the sugar or agave nectar. Cut around the grapefruit, just inside the white pith. Slice into each of the slices along the membrane. The sugar will be dissolved at this point and the slices easy to pop out and enjoy.
