French Onion Soup

Any broth will do, although the classic version calls for a rich, beef stock. The caramelizing of the onions is key. Keep cooking & stirring them until they become a dark golden shade. Add a splash of broth if they are sticking and reduce the heat if necessary. It may take awhile but the deep sweetness comes out the longer the onions have to cook.

French Toast

French toast can come together very quickly, even on a fast weekday morning for just a couple people. But, if you do not have 15 minutes to spare make a big batch on the weekend. Freeze individually and heat in a toaster or oven until heated through. Serve with fresh fruit and a dollop of yogurt.

Make this gluten-free with your favorite GF bread or dairy-free by using orange juice instead of milk.

Let’s call it a reminder. In addition, here are a few tips on how to store it, keep it fresh, or use it up. Whenever possible try to find those crusty gorgeous whole-grain varieties.

Fresh Apple Granola

Apples provide the sweetness and the binding agent to make this granola delightful and more importantly, sweetener-free. Use your preferred cooking oil or butter. The apples do not need to be peeled and add a bit of cinnamon to give this more flavor.
