Braised Cabbage & Potatoes

Slowly steaming cabbage & veggies in the oven is the perfect matchfor Slow-Cooker Corned Beef. Use the cooking liquid from the corned beef or make it vegan with your favorite veggie broth.

Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage, cut into large chunks
  • 1 lb potatoes, any kind, scrubbed and cut in chunks
  • 2 sweet potatos, scrubbed and cut in chunks
  • 1 onion, cut in chunks
  • 1 cup broth, or the braising liquid from corned beef
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • ½ teaspoon salt, more if the broth is unsalted
  • 1 pinch black pepper, optional

Serving Size: 4 People



 

Preparation Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375.

Toss the cabbage, potatoes, sweet potatoes and onion chunks altogether in a roasting pan. Cover with broth, sprinkle on caraway seeds, salt and pepper. Seal tightly with foil.

Place in the oven for 45 minutes up to an hour until the potatoes and cabbage are tender.
