Slow Cooker Corned Beef

from Slow Cooker Corned Beef & Cabbage, the Week of March 11, 2012.
View the previous recipe for this meal.

LIttle effort goes into this dish of corned beef. Slowly cook it until the beef is tender and falling apart. If possible, cure your own Corned Beef at home for an incredible flavor experience.

Ingredients

  • 1 onion, roughly chopped
  • 2 lbs corned beef
  • ¼ cup pickling spice
  • 4 cups broth

Serving Size: 4 People

Preparation Instructions

Place the onions on the bottom of a crockpot. Rinse the corned beef well. Top the onions with the corned beef and sprinkle on the pickling spices. Pour on the broth.

Cover and turn the crockpot on high heat for 4-7 hours or low heat for 6-9 hours until the beef is tender and falling apart.

Shred gently with a couple of forks to serve.
