Green Bean Almandine

from Lemon Salmon with Cucumber Sauce, Mashed Potatoes & Green Bean Almandine, the Week of September 30, 2012.
View the previous or next recipe for this meal.

Buttery and tossed with almonds, these green beans are just kind of perfect.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb green beans, trimmed
  • ¾ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons butter, unsalted, or extra-virgin olive oil, almond oil, or walnut oil
  • ½ cup almond, slivered
  • 1 pinch salt, to taste

Serving Size: 2 People

Preparation Instructions

Place the trimmed green beans and water in a pot over high heat, covered. Steam for 5-8 minutes until the beans are bright green and tender. Steam longer if you prefer a softer green bean.

Drain off the excess water. Add the butter/oil, almonds, and salt to taste.

Serve immediately or keep covered until ready. Heat briefly before serving.
