Grilled Chicken- Bone In

from Blackberry Chicken with Grilled Zucs + Peaches and Baby Greens Pasta Salad, the Week of August 30, 2015.
View the previous or next recipe for this meal.

Grilling chicken outside is one of the many treats of the warmer months. Seasoned simply and placed on the grill- not too hot- will slowly cook your chicken to tastiness. Serve with a sauce and alongside a veggie packed side dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken, bone-in, breasts or thighs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Serving Size: 2 People

Preparation Instructions

Heat your grill to medium heat. Season the chicken generously with salt and pepper on each side.

Place on the grill, skin-side down in the hottest location. Grill for 10 minutes. Flip over the chicken place in the coolest location on the grill and heat for 10-20 minutes until cooked through.

To check that the chicken is done in the center, slice it gently and check for pinkness. It will also have juices that run clear, rather than red. If you have a thermometer it will read about 165 degrees fahrenheit.
