Turkey Drumsticks Roasted

from Turkey Drumsticks with Kale Mashers and Apple Pecan Salad, the Week of November 8, 2015.
View the previous recipe for this meal.

Roast these legs on high heat with a simple sprinkle of salt and pepper. Then dig in with your hands Renaissance style!

Ingredients

  • 2 turkeys, legs
  • teaspoon salt, more or less to cover each leg
  • 2 pinches black pepper, or more as your prefer

Serving Size: 2 People

Preparation Instructions

Preheat the oven to 450.

Sprinkle the turkey legs generously with salt and pepper. Place in a roasting pan and into the oven.

Reduce the temperature to 350 and roast for 20-35 minutes- depending on the size of the legs- until the temperature reaches 170.

If you are without a thermometer, push on the meat and when it starts to feel firm (but not becoming hard as a rock) then slice into a thick part of the meat. You will no longer see any pink at this point and any juices will run clear.

Remove and cover for about 5 minutes.

Serve with lots of napkins as the best way to enjoy these drumsticks are with your hands.
