Yogurt Herb Ranch Dressing

This easy dressing is an excellent substitute for chemical-dense ranch or buttermilk dressings or dips. Adding yogurt will increase the amount of good bacteria acidophilus in your dressing. Although, thick cultured buttermilk is a great substitute. If you want a thicker, ranch to dip, use greek yogurt or cultured sour cream instead. If using a fresh lemon, add the microplane grated lemon zest for a flavor boost. Use your favorite herbs that are available. If you are not a garlic lover, this is tasty enough without it.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice, add the lemon zest if possible, for extra flavor, or substitute half of the vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic, small, finely minced, optional
  • ½ cup plain yogurt, or thick buttermilk or greek yogurt for a thicker version
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 tablespoon fresh herbs
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Serving Size: 2 People

Preparation Instructions

Whisk together the lemon juice, garlic and plain yogurt. Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while whisking rapidly. Fold in the fresh herbs. Season with just a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.
