Grilled Asparagus

from Grilled Potato Salad, Wedge Salad & Grilled Asparagus, the Week of June 10, 2012.
View the next recipe for this meal.

This could easily become your favorite way to eat asparagus as thick stalks take on amazing slightly charred flavor with an almost creamy center. The actual cooking time depends on the thickness of the asparagus, just watch it and pull it when they are tender to the bite with dark stripes.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 lb asparagus
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Serving Size: 2 People

Preparation Instructions

Trim the asparagus tips, by gently breaking them at the base. Toss and rub olive oil on to the stalks, sprinkle with salt & pepper.

Heat the grill over high heat, covered. Reduce the heat to medium-high and spread across the grill. Turn over once they are starting to darken. Flip again, until evenly charred and tender to the bite.
