Stir Fried Garlic Shrimp

from Shrimp Pad Thai, the Week of September 22, 2013.
View the next recipe for this meal.

This recipe includes a method to prevent you from burning your garlic.

Add this as the protein to any of the Stir-Fry Vegetable dishes.

Ingredients

  • tablespoon vegetable oil (high heat)
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced or pressed
  • ½ lb shrimp, medium size

Serving Size: 2 People

Preparation Instructions

Wash, peel and devein the shrimp. The tails can be left on or removed- your choice. Rinse off any pieces of shells and pat dry.

Start with a large saute pan or wok. Large enough to spread out at least half of the Shrimp.

Add the vegetable oil and minced garlic to the cold pan. Place the pan with oil over medium-high heat. Heat, tossing occasionally until the garlic begins to sizzle. Scoop out the garlic before it goes past golden and burns.

Lay the shrimp down & spread out in the pan, so none of them overlap. Sear for 2 minutes, flip over and sear for 1-2 more minutes until the shrimp is lightly colored and cooked through.

Season with salt and pepper.
