The Food
Let’s start this week off with some holiday bling. This recipe was featured in my Twelve Days of Christmas Recipes (which you should totally grab a copy of yourself!) but I had to share it with you today. The Kahlua Caramelized Pecan Brie is a simple appetizer to put together for a party or just to make your day a bit more sparkly. Pair it with the Pecan Crackers or whatever crackers you find to be just fancy enough for this cheesy decadence.
This is probably the most hustle-bustle week in of all of December, at least for me and my friends. There are more deadlines, performances and occasions than one can fully comprehend it seems.
Balance the chaos with some simple nourishing meals such as the Avocado Pear Spinach Salad, Mascarpone Beets, or Marsala Acorn Squash which all mix and match nicely with the Jewel Quinoa.
The Harvest Lentil Salad with the Creamy Ginger Kale Salad are two salads that can be made ahead, offering a nourishing option at a potluck or a simple go to dinner of leftovers for a day or two after.
Of course, a couple of full meals such as the Brown Butter Fish with Baked Carrot Rice and Fennel Blood Orange Salad or the Marsala Roasted Chicken Dinner are great options for sitting down with friends or family this week or next.
Make a bit too much chicken in order to put together these Chicken Apple Salad Sandwiches for lunches, too.
For breakfasts, the Eggs, Greens, Apples + Potatoes offer a bit of morning comfort, while the Poached Pears with Spiced Ricotta are all about the joy.
May this week be full of more bliss than hustle!
