The Food

Week of June 12, 2016

This week, I get to celebrate a few of my favorite guys. My son turns three and then Father’s Day is next weekend and I have both my husband and father to celebrate.

Father’s Day is always time to pull out the grill and the Steak with Baked Beans + Coleslaw is perfect dinner for an All-American Dad.

My own Dad would probably be excited to see a meal with the Grilled Potato + Greens Salad, Grilled Asparagus and a Wedge Salad, whether steak made an appearance or not.

Since my husband and I recently started an all-local year of eating, Colorado Grilled Trout would probably go on his menu, along with a dollop of local Cherry Salsa— they are almost here! BTW- If you are not following our local food adventure, go here for a list of all the places you can find us chatting about it online.

With cherries coming in, the Creamy Lemon Cherry Snap Pea Pasta Salad is another great possibility for grilling. Pair it with the Evolving Spring Salad with Basil-Lemon Dressing.

All three of my guys would love the Antipasto Artichoke Salad and the Baby Greens Pasta Salad. My son especially would be thrilled with the Cheese Sticks.

Speaking of my sweet lil’ guy, he would be thrilled with the Cherry Almond Yogurt Parfaits with Chocolate Granola. If you follow me on Instagram, you will see how happy he was to eat a yogurt parfait recently.

For a special breakfast for all the dads in your life or a simple not too sweet dessert, try out the Almond Cherry Clafoutis.

Cook seasonally. Eat consciously. Live well,

Chef Lilly
