The Food
Recently, I hosted a Winter Recipe Jam on Instagram and Facebook. It was such a fun party and I loved how many of you were inspired and participated— thank you! My love of food was renewed through it as well and as promised I created our first community recipe with the soup ingredient ideas shared during the event. Here it is: Charred Ginger + Squash Soup with Kale + Mushroom Saute and Socca.
The final addition to that meal is a long overdo recipe that I have been meaning to share. Socca came up during the Winter Recipe Jam and reminded me that I had to finally make sure all of you have this recipe as well. Extras of the Socca work well with it’s favorite playmate: Carrot Hummus. This combination is how I originally fell in love with both recipes.
A certain big football game is coming up soon and it coincides perfectly with some scrumptious meals that can make a weeknight playful or to cheer on your team of choice.
The Baked Potatoes with Broccoli + Squash Nacho Cheese Sauce is a fun vegetarian option. The vegan Winter Chili with Chips + Guac would play along nicely, too… maybe even making it into an expanded Hot Potato Bar.
For my meat-eating friends, try this meal I made inspired by the Broncos (I live in Colorado— the orange + blue is everywhere these days!): Beer Braised Onion + Bison Burgers with Sweet Potato Fries and a Blue Cheese Side Salad.
The Creamy Herb Deviled Eggs can be a snack-y gam time appetizer or the perfect match for the Blue Cheese Side Salad to take as a lunch on the go.
Celebrate with fish! The crunchy breaded Fish Tacos are simple to bring together, wrap and gobble up.
Finally, slowly cook these Oatmeal Baked Apples for a mid-winter breakfast treat.
